چکیده

Moisture in bitumen and at the bitumen-aggregate interface affects cohesive adhesive properties of asphalt mixtures, which are critical for service performance durability pavements. This paper aims to investigate kinetics thermodynamics moisture transport various temperatures relative humidity different types. Transport models introduced study mechanisms. A parameter optimization approach combined with finite element method is applied simulate behavior. Results show salient sorption increase higher levels (more than 70%), indicating occurrence clustering water molecules bitumen, can lead a significant decrease diffusion coefficient. great quality simulating experimental results, S-Cluster model provides detailed explanation mechanisms describes better high levels. The coefficient, cluster size activation energy were determined found be linked chemical structural properties. expected contribute comprehensive understanding behavior further pavement damage complex interacting environmental conditions.

Evaluating the Effect of Lucobit on Moisture Susceptibility and Mechanical Performance of Bitumen and Asphalt Mixtures

The use of polymer in hot mix asphalt production has remarkably in recent decades. Destruction due to moisture in hot mix asphalt is of basic matters about flexible pavement durability. In recent decades different ways have been used to evaluate moisture Sensitivity of HMA which some of them are simple with low cost and some are complicated with more reliable results. In this research the effec...

Cation transport by the neuronal K(+)-Cl(-) cotransporter KCC2: thermodynamics and kinetics of alternate transport modes.

Both Cs(+) and NH(4)(+) alter neuronal Cl(-) homeostasis, yet the mechanisms have not been clearly elucidated. We hypothesized that these two cations altered the operation of the neuronal K(+)-Cl(-) cotransporter (KCC2). Using exogenously expressed KCC2 protein, we first examined the interaction of cations at the transport site of KCC2 by monitoring furosemide-sensitive (86)Rb(+) influx as a fu...
